Jake's Cake

My son likes to bowl. Hence a bowling cake for his birthday.

Apple Pie Cake

I was at work one day and I had the idea to make an apple pie cake. I finally got around to doing it. Here is the result. Fondant "crust" with cake inside and apple pie filling on top. Now all I need is a volunteer to taste it.

Easter

I decided to make an Easter egg cake for the family. This isn't as finished as I wanted. The plan was to pipe white chocolate details, but I ran out of time. By the way, everything was made from scratch, even the fondant covering the cake.

Sunflower. This cake was made for a co-worker of Donna's. It's a yellow and chocolate marble cake with light blue buttercreme frosting. The fondant was hand cut and painted. This is where Donna's creativity comes in. No cookie cutters. Perfectly imperfect.

A bit of history......

Last year, after watching others making cakes on the Food Network, Carl decided to take a cake decorating class. After learning some techniques for decorating with frosting, we soon moved to making designs and figures with fondant. Actually, Donna is the creative one and enjoys doing this part of the cakes. Now we have decided to try to sell some of our cakes. So, in an effort to do this, we have created this blog so you can follow our progress.
